Oskar Schlemmer è stato uno dei protagonisti del movimento Bauhaus e pioniere nel campo delle arti interdisciplinari. La sua opera più celebre e rivoluzionaria è “Das Triadische Ballett”, creata nel 1922. Questa performance fonde danza, teatro e arte visiva, trasformando il palcoscenico in un’ esperienza unica.
Schlemmer, nel “”Das Triadische Ballet”, voleva rappresentare le forme umane nello spazio e nel movimento, con una struttura basata sul numero 3: 3 ballerini e 3 atti. I 12 quadri, invece, accompagnati da 18 costumi, creano una visione geometrica e razionale della performance, trasformando i ballerini in figure archetipiche. Quest’opera rappresenta una rottura radicale con le tradizioni classiche, offrendo una visione rigorosa e matematica del balletto.
Oskar Schlemmer è stato un pioniere nelle creazioni di costumi di scena sovversivi, la cui importanza nell’esibizione dei performer non può essere sottovalutata. La sua visione innovativa e audace ha trasformato le sue creazioni in vere e proprie opere d’arte mobili, creando un’armonia visiva unica e contribuendo a rendere le performance ancora più straordinarie. L’approccio di Schlemmer alla progettazione dei costumi, combinato con la sua coreografia geometrica e la fusione di diverse discipline artistiche, ha aperto la strada a nuove possibilità creative e ha lasciato un’impronta indelebile nella storia dell’arte e dello spettacolo.
Questo tipo di arte è stata tale da catturare l’attenzione di artisti di fama internazionale, come David Bowie, che ha indossato un costume ispirato alla sua opera “Das Triadische Ballet” nel video di Ziggy Stardust del 1974. Inoltre, nel dicembre 1979, Bowie ha eseguito una performance al Saturday Night Live indossando un abito estremamente modulare che richiamava lo stile di Schlemmer. Oskar Schlemmer was one of the protagonists of the Bauhaus movement and a pioneer in the field of interdisciplinary arts. His most famous and revolutionary work is “Das Triadische Ballett”, created in 1922. This performance combines dance, theater, and visual art, transforming the stage into a unique experience.
In the “Das Triadische Ballett,” Schlemmer aimed to represent human forms in space and movement, with a structure based on the number 3: 3 dancers and 3 acts. The 12 scenes, accompanied by 18 costumes, create a geometric and rational vision of the performance, turning the dancers into archetypal figures. This work represents a radical break from classical traditions, offering a rigorous and mathematical view of ballet.
Oskar Schlemmer was a pioneer in creating subversive stage costumes, whose importance in the performers’ presentation cannot be underestimated. His innovative and daring vision turned his creations into true mobile works of art, creating a unique visual harmony and contributing to making the performances even more extraordinary. Schlemmer’s approach to costume design, combined with his geometric choreography and fusion of different artistic disciplines, opened the way for new creative possibilities and left an indelible mark on the history of art and performance.
This type of art has been influential enough to capture the attention of internationally renowned artists like David Bowie, who wore a costume inspired by Schlemmer’s work in his 1974 Ziggy Stardust music video. Furthermore, in December 1979, Bowie performed on Saturday Night Live wearing an extremely modular outfit reminiscent of Schlemmer’s style. This testimony demonstrates that his work continues to inspire artists of all kinds, highlighting his enduring influence and brilliance in the field of art.
