Al via anche quest’anno Danae Festival, progetto internazionale multidisciplinare, nato a Milano nel 1999, che supporta lavori dai linguaggi ibridi culturali contemporanei e curato dal Teatro delle Moire, interessato a far conoscere esperienze artistiche nuove, che, al suo ventiquattresimo anno di età, per la prima volta ha deciso di partire da un tema: “la casa”.
Nella sua dimensione che genera sentimenti ambivalenti, soprattutto nel corso di questi ultimi anni, rappresenta il luogo in cui ci si sente al sicuro, ma è anche uno spazio che con i suoi confini ci limita. Poi, come espresso perfettamente dal programma di Danae, “Poi c’è il corpo, il corpo che è la nostra prima casa, il nostro primo abito, che ha dovuto trovare strategie e modalità per esprimersi nonostante i divieti e le distanze.”
Con questa premessa, ecco perché anche una performance all’interno degli spazi di un teatro dà la possibilità di ribaltare i confini tra lo spettatore e la scena, tra il presente ed il passato, tra l’immateriale ed il tangibile.
La performance della coreografa e danzatrice Ola Maciejewska, nata in Polonia, attualmente residente a Parigi, che è stata selezionata come artista per la prima esibizione del festival, si è svolta nella prima serata di Danae all’interno della cornice del Teatro Out Off.
La scelta è stata più che appropriata per aprire questa edizione, visto che l’artista ha voluto che il pubblico assistesse alla sua performance in semicerchio, per creare una situazione più intimista e accogliente, che concretizzasse maggior vicinanza, anche fisica, come se ci trovassimo in una casa.
Ola Maciejewska ha presentato il suo progetto Loïe Fuller: Research, reinterpretando il “Dancing Dress”, l’abito-scenografia inventato da Loïe Fuller, una delle pioniere della danza moderna americana, sviluppando una pratica coreografica unica basata sulla rilettura delle iconiche Danze Serpentine.
Ola crea un gioco progressivo e continuo di forme cangianti che riporta all’indagine della danza come interazione tra il corpo della danzatrice e un oggetto esterno qual è il tessuto, che in ogni movimento muta forma, colore e crea musicalità.
Si ha la sensazione che il tempo scompaia: la danzatrice crea un gioco di stoffe, movimenti e colori avvolgente, vorticoso e allo stesso tempo naturale, trasformandosi in un essere a sé stante, oltre il tempo e lo spazio.
Un modo visionario e sperimentale riproposto dall’artista che grazie all’utilizzo delle stoffe dà mille vite al proprio corpo, dove il dinamismo, la luce, il colore ed il suono creati dal movimento della danza escono fuori in maniera esplicita e concreta, per creare delle forme che rendano visibile lo slancio che ci spinge a instaurare una relazione fisica con le cose.

Danae Festival – “Loïe Fuller: Research”, di Ola Maciejewska

Danae Festival is an international multidisciplinary project, born in Milan in 1999, which promotes works approaching contemporary cultural hybrid languages, curated by the Teatro delle Moire and aimed at making new artistic experiences known. This year, in its twenty-fourth edition, for the first time the festival decided to start from a theme: “the house”.
In its dimension that generates ambivalent feelings, especially in recent years, it represents the place where one feels safe, but also a space that limits us with its borders. Then, as perfectly expressed by Danae’s program, “Then there is the body, the body that is our first home, our first dress, which had to find strategies and ways to express itself despite prohibitions and distances.”
With this premise, this is why even a performance within the spaces of a theater gives the opportunity to overturn the boundaries between the viewer and the scene, between the present and the past, between the immaterial and the tangible.
The performance of Polish-born choreographer and dancer Ola Maciejewska, currently living in Paris, selected as artist for the first act of the festival, took place on Danae’s prime time within the setting of the Out Off Theater.
The choice was more than appropriate to open this edition, given that the artist wanted the public to attend his performance in a semicircle, to create a more intimate and welcoming situation, which would concretize greater closeness, even physical, as if we were in a house.
Ola Maciejewska presented her project Loïe Fuller: Research, reinterpreting the “Dancing Dress“, the set-dress invented by Loïe Fuller, one of the pioneers of American modern dance, developing a unique choreographic practice based on the reinterpretation of iconic Serpentine Dances.
Ola creates a progressive and continuous game of iridescent forms that brings to the investigation of dance as an interaction between the dancer’s body and an external object such as the cloth, which changes shape, color and creates musicality in every movement.
You have the feeling that time disappears: the dancer creates a game of fabrics, movements and colors that is enveloping, swirling and at the same time natural, transforming herself into a being in its own right, beyond time and space.
A visionary and experimental way proposed by the artist who thanks to the use of fabrics gives a thousand lives to her body, where the dynamism, light, color and sound created by the movement of dance come out in an explicit and concrete way, to create forms that make visible the momentum that drives us to establish a physical relationship with things.
